HIST addresses worldview, especially as it relates to poverty, breaking the poverty cycle, and the values and belief systems of a holistic worldview. The International Disaster Response (IDR) 1100 module (Community-Based Disaster Preparedness) teaches individuals and families how to prepare for and respond to disasters. The training is customized to specific communties to help them survive when disaster strikes.


What could you do?
The IDR 1300 module (Community-Based Disaster Response) provides a roadmap for communities to build their own response capability. The 1300 course details how to conduct a local asset assessment, when to connect with professional responders, and how to set up a “Local Coordination Center” that can serve the needs of your friends and neighbors.
