In a part of Cambodia known for human trafficking, drug smuggling and general lawlessness, HISG has helped rescue 70 orphaned children from life on the streets. The provincial governor did not want the children to grow up homeless, so he donated land for them to live on, but no one in the community had resources to build them a proper home.
The only buildings on the land generously donated by the governor were a couple of bamboo shacks, one for the boys and one for the girls. The only drinking water came from a muddy pond at the end of the property. Still, the children were very grateful to be safe and out of the rain. They had a place to live, but not a "home."
One of our partners in Cambodia approached HISG about helping provide these children a suitable home with living quarters, a modern kitchen and plumbing. Several individuals and organizations recognized the potential in this project and welcomed the opportunity to become a part of the children's lives. Within just a few months of posting the need, all of the funds were secured for the new buildings, and construction is underway. One of HISG's core principles is to care for orphaned children, the most vulnerable members of society. If you would like to partner with us in providing food, clothing, shelter and safety for orphans around the world, please contact us or consider making a donation to HISG.
