PAKISTAN- HISG is participating in the International Disaster Response Network's response to widespread flooding in Northern Pakistan. HISG is working with international organizations, as well as a team of aid agencies in Pakistan to provide urgent relief to some of the hardest hit areas. The focus of this cooperative effort is to bring clean water, food, and medical services to the suffering population.

The provinces of Punjab, Baluchistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been devastated by monsoon flooding. More than 1,500 people have been killed, and another 2 million forced out of their homes. The floods are the worst in 80 years, and the high water levels combined with erosion and mudslides have made it extremely difficult to get relief to the affected areas.

This disaster has completely overwhelmed the Central Asian nation. Almost one hundred thousand people have contracted cholera from contaminated water. Food reserves have been washed away. Thousands of homes and all the belongings inside them are completely underwater.

If you would like to help in Pakistan alongside HISG, you can contact us through email, or join one of the Pakistan discussions on StarfishCommunity.net, or contribute online to the relief effort. Our extensive network in Pakistan gives us a direct channel to use your gift where it will make the biggest impact. Thank you for your support.
