One of the primary barriers to a comprehensive disaster response is a lack of coordination.

To help address this issue, HISG is participating in a disaster response exercise with other members of the International Disaster Response Network. This is the third exercise that HISG has been included in, and each one has been vital to strengthening the individual capabilities within the network, as well as the overall reach of the IDRN.

The IDRN exercises have participants from around the world so that each member can truly get a feel for how the network could respond to an overwhelming disaster that demanded the resources of so many different partners. You can contact HISG if you have any questions about joining the IDRN or participating in this or any upcoming exercise.

In addition, you can listen to one of HISG's operations specialists talk about the value of this kind of training event by clicking here.
