Humanitarian Coordinator, Larry Hollingworth, in Beirut, Lebanon.  Mr. Kay Hiramine (left) and Mike McCausland (right) drove in from Damascus, Syria to help connect multiple, indigenous NGOs to a network designed to support the UN in relief and recovery operations in Southern Lebanon.

HISG partnered with Hal Jones (not pictured) of Global Hope Network International (GHNI) to execute the visit.   Mr. Hollingworth shared with the group concerning identified needs and stated that over 100,000 people were currently on the move heading home.  Two days later, Hal Jones continued on to southern Lebanon and the border region to further assess the needs of the people.  Multiple initiatives from the group are being submitted and reviewed by the UN for funding; including regional assessments, trauma counseling for women and children, repatriation kits for returning refugees, and rebuilding projects. HISG will continue to partner with Global Hope Network which has registered with the UN for operations in the region.  Please contact HISG for further information if you would like to support relief and recovery operations through support teams (medical, construction, agriculture, etc.) or financial donations.
