HISG is connecting with partnering organizations in Myanmar to provide relief to the people there. Cyclone “Nargis” hit the Southeast Asian nation early Saturday morning, and more than 77,000 people have been confirmed dead. Another 55,000 people are missing and at least 1 million people have been forced out of their homes.

HISG has strong relationships with local aid organizations in Southeast Asia since relief projects for the 2004 Asian Tsunami. Our warehouse sent several containers to affected areas of Indonesia and outfitted a hospital near ground zero. HISG has helped several small businesses to assist in the community development of the affected areas as well. Our staff has also taught disaster response in Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand, which neighbors Myanmar.
