The International Disaster Response Network (IDRN) is a collection of organizations and individuals who are committed to work together in preparation, training and response when significant international disaster events occur.
The IDRN.INFO website is to serve as a web-based portal or toolset to enable this network to better collaborate when responding to an event. It is primarily focused on facilitating IDR practitioners – those who are actively engaged in response and coordination of the response.

When the question "What is the yardstick for success in Darfur?" was put to HISG's Country Director for Sudan, he thought about all the people living in the less-than-human conditions in the Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camps, and then answered: "If we only ever save but one, then we will have done more than we could ever have accomplished sitting at home." Let's Save One was created to provide immediate assistance to people in potentially life threatening situations. It focuses on trying to provide life changing help to one person at a time.
HISG is connecting a network of Orphanages and Orphan Care providers to meet our goal of helping. Find out more about what is happening and how you can help.
HISG has been supporting humanitarian work in Darfur, Sudan since 2006. The conflict in Sudan has displaced approximately 2.4 million people since 2003, and the majority of those Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are entirely dependent on outside aid for their survival. The situation in Darfur is extremely precarious, with seemingly non-stop armed clashes causing massive population displacements, several restrictions on humanitarian access, increased unrest and violence inside the IDP camps, and a high incidence of targeted attacks against humanitarian workers and their assets. The conflict continues to significantly impact local economies, commerce, and basic human needs in the conflict areas.
With the goal of connecting resources to needs, HISG's Global Information Center, in Central Texas, has created technology that will provide real time information during disasters so that the most good can be done with the fewest resources. The Global Information Center also serves as an information hub, connecting people so that communication can happen at any time.
HRN (Hope Resource Network) is a global network of warehouses and distribution centers connected to stage and deliver food, medical supplies, clothing and basic human needs to people all around the world. HISG is working to facilitate the growth of HRN and the delivery of all these life changing goods.
