HISG is a non-profit, non-government organization (NGO) serving poor and vulnerable people around the world through disaster relief and community development initiatives. In order to operate efficiently and maximize impact, HISG cooperates with all branches of the private sector, including corporations, non-profits, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and academic institutions during operations. HISG is one of the few organizations to include each of these categories when preparing and implementing an operation.
HISG is not a faith-based organization and does not participate in faith-based initiatives. Our focus is connecting resources to the most needy communities around the world. We neither endorse nor denounce religious organizations, but look for ways to partner with the entire private sector for the good of the community. These partnerships often include representatives from many different faiths. It is our policy to respect and work with all faiths, but examples of specific practices we do not condone include offering humanitarian relief in exchange for adherence to a specific faith or creed, and promoting a specific faith or creed as an escape from poverty.
Similarly, HISG does not discriminate based on nationality, race, ethnic group, social class or ideology. We are a politically neutral, independent, non-governmental organization (NGO) that exists to serve those in need and empower local communities to develop sustainable solutions that benefit their society.
