Norm Brinkley joined HISG in June 2007 as the International Director for North Africa and the Middle East. He has extensive experience in international business, humanitarian relief and development that makes him uniquely qualified for this position.
Norm has worked in several organizations, often helping to start them and craft the implementation of community organizations through teamwork and strong entrepreneurial expertise. He graduated from University in 1974, and followed on into Graduate school in Southern California. Having lived with his family in several Middle Eastern and North Africa nations, he consulted businesses and individuals, in how to maneuver and leverage themselves from their strengths in order to build successful operations in culturally complex locations.
In 1996, Norm left North Africa and took his leadership and team-building skills to the non-profit arena. From 1996 to 2003, he served in several leadership capacities to build new networks, enhance services to the less fortunate, founding ventures that connected resources to needs across the Inland Empire Region of Southern California. Several millions of dollars have been unleashed and distributed by a vast network of partners during this period.
Norm and his wife returned to the Arabian Peninsula in 2004 to again lead, coach and train, others in humanitarian, business, and entrepreneurial activity. Several strategic partnerships, and alliances have achieved rewarding benefits as a result of collaboration, coordination, and communication assembled by Norm's leadership.
Norm is an avid reader, continuous learner and risk taker. He and his wife have been married since 1973 and are based in California. They have four children and six grandchildren.
