Joseph (Jojo) and Susan Copenhaver have been managing humanitarian aid projects in Nyala, South Darfur, Sudan since September of 2007. This experience in one of the most volatile places in the world has given them a very practical and thorough understanding of the dangers threatening aid workers abroad. They have implemented and managed numerous relief and development programs such as community health training, vocational training, clean water programs, and micro enterprise development to alleviate the widespread suffering in the region.
Jojo and Susan share a deep, personal commitment to helping those in need, and have lived out that commitment in Darfur. They are now turning their attention to serving others, so that aid workers can do the work they have set out to do with peace of mind, and without worrying about safety for them and their families.
The Copenhavers live in Conesus, New York and enjoy the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes Region.
They have six grown sons.
