Steve Lencke

Steve Lencke is the CAO for HISG. Steve started at HISG in 2006 after a successful and diverse career managing operations, finances, and administrative duties for several different large companies.

Steve began his career in accounting working for KPMG Peat Marwick in Columbus, Ohio in 1986. He worked for that firm for seven years as an audit manager, handling primarily insurance companies, but also banks, retirement and pension funds, and manufacturers. He also trained the staff on computer systems to support their auditing. In 1993 Steve was promoted to Director of Accounting and Finance for the same firm. His role as director involved overseeing 13 offices in five states, payroll management, monthly financial analysis reports, contracts, and 11 sets of financial statements. He also developed a new policy and procedure manual, consolidated 13 offices into a centralized accounting model, and coordinated the consolidation.

After 11 years at KPMG Peat Marwick, Steve was offered the Chief Financial Officer position for ASP Westward LP, a publishing group based in Houston that produced more than 60 community newspapers. As CFO he oversaw the accounting department for each of the publications, presented all financial information to banks and board members, wrote all accounting policies and procedures, managed and selected all insurance plans, and reviewed all significant leases and contracts. His tenure at ASP Westward prepared Steve for all sorts of acquisitions, divestitures and other dealings with bank syndicates. He also worked with senior management on 13 acquisitions and 4 divestitures and led the company through a buying and selling process in 2002.

Steve also became Publisher and President for the Colorado Community Newspapers division of ASP Westward while working as the CFO. As publisher he managed 13 community newspapers, a printing facility and over 100 employees. Steve doubled the cash flow of the Colorado newspapers from $1 million to $2 million.

A HISG Steve’s role encompasses all the different aspects of administration for an international non-profit group. He manages human resources, travel budgets, shipping budgets, payroll, disbursements, tax filings, and any other financial operations involved with HISG.

Steve is a black belt Taekwondo instructor and enjoys skiing and cycling in Colorado. He and his wife Tammi have three children and live in Castle Rock, Colorado.
